The Blessing • Nancy Mitford •

Can we first talk about this stunning cover? I feel like carrying it around as an accessory...

I quite enjoyed this - Nancy Mitford's writing is very tongue in cheek and full of dry humour. I should say though - having never studied French (I did Spanish instead) there were times I was thrown by all the French. But once you get into it - it doesn't detract from the story - it makes it richer and very atmospheric. However, I do think it's one of those books you need to be in the mood to read.

(Because I don't have my own copy and I forgot to take a picture soz...)

Having recently read The Storied Life of AJ Fikry (which was a charming and delightful read), Alex recommended me Mr Penumbra's 24 - Hour Bookstore and kindly lent me a copy and it was brilliant! Even though I thought it would be similar to AJ Fikry it's totally different. You're slowly taken on a ride and then suddenly you start noticing little odd things and BOOM mystery! Those last few chapters I tore through - and thankfully it was a very satisfying ending.

What books have you recently read?
Until next time!

A Note on MAC Rebel // A Review

For when you want to feel like a little Rebel...(excuse the awful pun!)

I've had this little thing of beauty for a while now and it's got a firm foothold in my heart (nah man - allow the hyperbole - but I got bare love for it innit...Sorry)

It looks quite a bit pinkier on me than it appears. But it's still quite a bold lip that sticks around for a good amount of time and fades to a lovely stain.
I do find that it's a little drying but nothing a good lip balm (might I recommend the Nuxe Reve De Miel?) can't fix.

Have you tried MAC Rebel
Until next time!
