Spontaneity & Sweet Orange Cookies

Orange Cookies with Sweet Orange Glaze.

.1. I cut my hair. On a whim, I'm talking full on  a spur of the moment thing. It's actually not too bad to be honest. I quite like it.

.2. I also had a craving to bake something, so I did a quick google search for what I could make with the things we had at home and came across this recipe & gave it a whirl.

They came out quite well and went down a treat! It was relatively simple to make and they taste like little pieces of spring sunshine - seriously think I'm going to make them again- if even for the divine orange smell that infused the kitchen.

Until next time!

WEARING. READING. We were Liars// Ilamasqua lipstick// The Puppet boy of Warsaw

R E A D I N G:
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart.  This book! I read this in *almost* one sitting (people and their interruptions! Let the girl read!) as it is relatively short but oh so good! What's it about? Hmm.. a gripping story... about lies and lives. Living lies. About truths and lives. Living truths. Confused? Good! Read the book.

The Puppet Boy of Warsaw by Eva Weaver. 'the FEELS!' That was my reaction after reading this book. All it means is- I was so overrun by emotions, words failed me..or something. Regardless, this is a beautiful masterpiece of a book that will stay with you long after you've finished reading it.

W E A R I N G:

Mint Hijab  • World Map Watch • Nuxe Lip Balm Illamasqua Lipstick in Magnetism.

Mint green hijab: This headscarf I am sort of, slightly in love with. It is an excellent shade of green and the material is light. Perfect for sunny weather! Or any weather for that matter- I've been known to wear a bright orange hijab in the dead of winter.

Watch: To be completely honest, the only reason I bought this watch was because it has the world map on it (well most of it!), do I really need to say anymore? Oh and it was ridiculously cheap (similar one here).

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm: What a mouthful! Okay, the majority of people 'rave' about this and it such a cliche product but I held back from 'following the masses' for a long time!
Sadly, I caved..I've had it for a couple of days now and all I can say, is that it's so popular for a reason!
The texture is a little odd, my sisters described it as 'peanut butter like'. It's soft and applies a little matte and boy is it moisturising! Perfect for an overnight treatment and for wearing under lipstick.

Illamasqua Lipstick in Magnetism: Can we address the fact that it's not in any way red? I'm branching out! Moving rapidly on.. Magnetism is one hell of a colour- it's a raspberry pink that's quite matte and can have a tendency to settle in the lines of the lips after a while- though this can be remedied by applying lip balm before it and voilĂ  smooth lipstick colour.

WEARING. READING. Princess Academy// No.7 Grace Lipstick

Things for the week.

R E A D I N G :
Princess Academy by Shannon Hale. I read this when I was younger and decided to read it again because Shannon Hale, author of The Book of a Thousand Days (one of my favourite books) knows how to weave a magical tale and this is no exception.

W E A R I N G :
River Island Rose Gold watch:  I bought this last year and am still a little obsessed with it.

No.7 Grace Lipstick: This is a beautiful brick red/burnt orange colour with an epic formula! It's matte but so moisturising. Yet lasts hours and doesn't look too bold on the lips.

Heart ring: I love this delicate piece of jewellery, the gold and pale pink complement each other beautifully and it makes me feel all lady like (you know, because it's so dainty!).

Until next time!

Little Notes #5

A four day Scouts Camp

.1. Ah life! Where am I headed? Where will I be in 10 years time? Who knows! Not I! That has been the gist of my thoughts for the past couple of weeks as I navigate my 'awesome'- now unemployed-after uni -life. (Though I still get a thrill every time I say 'oh exams? Noo, I've graduated' even though it's almost been a year! *gulp*)

.2. On another note - I've been devouring books like they're going out of fashion. This makes me feel quite content.

.3. Pinterest. It's all about Pinterest. I could honestly while away the hours on that beautiful app!

Until next time

London Travels

Two books are a must- you know one for the train there and one for the ride back ^.^

The Makeup:

For once I didn't over do it with the lip products and only brought two favourites with me (I couldn't decide between them..) : Revlon Lipstick in Rich Girl Red which is a lovely sheer, coral -red and MAC Creme in Your Coffee - a muted rosy brown.

B. Vibrant Lip and Cheek Colour in Goji from Superdrug also came with me. I prefer it as a cheek colour as it is a perfect plum/pink on. I tend to avoid reddish colours for blusher as it always looks too much like I'm hot and flustered- see you'd think an advantage of being dark skinned is that you can't tell if I'm blushing or not but no I can go very red! Anyway! This lip crayon is fantastic simply because it's so easy to cart around!

The L'occitane Hand Cream has been well loved and is now sadly on its way out! It is a fantastic little tube of goodness for my dry, dry hands!
Another necessity is the Urban Decay Eyeliner (which I'm sure I've mentioned before but can't find the link to-oh well!) this two ended eyeliner is a good 'un! A dark brown on one side and a charcoal black on the other, they're creamy, soft and don't budge. Multi purpose product at its finest.
Lastly, the Topshop Cream Blush in Neon Rose in all honesty only came with me for its handy mirror!

The Eco Tools case won over the bejeweled beauty in the earlier picture.

Other necessities:

Books •  The Man Repeller and the second book is from the Books of Pellinor series; The Riddle by Alison Croggon  • Diary  • Keys  • Mango Purse  • Notebook and Pens  • Headphones • Tissues  • And lots of food and sweets •

So what things can't you go anywhere without?
Until next time!

A Spring Look: Illamasqua Blush//Seduce. BENEFIT They're Real Mascara.

• Cream Blush • No7 BB lips • Benefit Mascara • Blush Brush •
These 'ere products are what I've been gravitating towards quite often recently and I'm imaginatively dubbing this my 'Spring/Summer Look' (I'm so on trend yo!). Now that the sun is here, well more often than normal- any makeup look I sport is automatically 'Spring Inspired' in my book.
Moving on.

Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Seduce has had a whole post dedicated to it, so I'll refrain from waffling on here but this beautiful plummy pink has got to be my favourite blusher.

The No7 BB Lips in Belle Pink in a nutshell is basically another of my 'forever's (the relationship I have with some of my makeup would really make a beautiful movie). It's moisturising, not sticky and looks natural - the keys to my heart...

Now, the Benefit's They're Real Mascara made an appearance in my July favourites many many moons ago and it's still going strong (magical tube this!) and still well loved. That says it all really!

So what's your 'Spring Look'?
Until next time!
